Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced Purchaser to manage procurement for our joinery and woodworking operations. Ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of different species of wood, hardware, and related materials. Experienced working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is crucial for ensuring timely sourcing of quality materials at competitive prices.
Ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of proven experience in procurement within a Joinery-fit-out company in the UAE, possess a knowledge of local suppliers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Source and procure raw materials such as timber, veneers, MDF, plywood, hardware, fittings, and polishing materials
  • Identify reliable suppliers and maintain strong vendor relationships
  • Negotiate prices, on time delivery and negotiate payment terms.
  • Identify new vendors for supply of various materials, Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely availability
  • Coordinate with the production team to forecast material needs and avoid shortages or overstocking
  • Maintain procurement records and prepare reports on cost, quality, and supplier performance
  • Ensure all materials meet the company’s quality and technical standards
