The Purchaser is responsible for purchasing goods and services for Lankhorst Taselaar so that they meet the required specification and are available on time. The role holder will ensure a careful analysis of the available stocks of the product groups assigned to this function in order to meet the demand. He/She will be informed about the developments of the market in order to be able to fill in the current and future customers needs.

Accountabilities:

  • Under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager, the role holder purchases goods and services based on good availability on time, under optimum conditions and according to the required specifications:
  • Ensures the placing and the following-up of the orders, takes care of the purchasing correspondence.
  • Adjusts the order quantities in relation to changed consumption and demand patterns, minimum order quantities.
  • Solves delivery issues.
  • Timely informs internal stakeholders about (impending) deviations in planed delivery times, product specifications etc.
  • Analyses the chain for risks, throughput times, delivery reliability, number of suppliers, transport costs, purchasing costs as a share in the product (cost price reduction), management costs.
  • Negotiation purchase plans in close cooperation with sales and logistics.
  • Maintains good relationships with the suppliers.
  • Negotiates and ensures contracting deals.
  • Makes proposals to optimize the product range of Lankhorst Taselaar. To this end, mainly:
  • Analyses the current product portfolio and make proposals for changes and / or optimization of the product portfolio.
  • Explores the domestic/international market and makes proposals for potential suppliers and potential products.
  • Maintains knowledge of existing product performance and trends (including competition) by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to suppliers and boat shows.
  • Coordinates (together with its suppliers) the development of existing products to meet the market requirement and increase sales.
  • Ensures the product compliance of the products in its portfolio optimizing the product range
  • Introduces new products from A-Z (e.g. market research, sourcing, price positioning, packaging, compliance, introduction, promotion materials, sales actions etc).
  • Works with aftersales/inside sales department to ensure that after service meets the defined standards: claims are documented, timely solved to the customer and analysed for structural improvements towards suppliers.
  • Provides support to the Sales department and distributors through the implementation of new programs and development of tools to optimize sales like sales and margin analysis, price trends. Actively shares best practices with colleagues on the field responsible to sell.
  • Coordinates and helps Marketing to build that proper material is available and is provided timely (product related catalogues, brochures, point of sales material, web site, information via extranet and press information …)
  • Responsible for assisting sales in the pricing strategy for the portfolio.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Degree at HBO level or Higher (e.g. HEAO) and has a relevant working experience of minim 5 years
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to quickly learn an ERP
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a multinational environment across different cultures
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Customer focus
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (both written and spoken) – Other language knowledge is an asset
  • Timely lead the processes in order to have the products compliant in every market.
  • Knowledge of the marine/water sport environment is a plus

Our offer:

This exciting position is a Global Grade 10 and offers a salary of between €45,000 and €52,000 (payable in 12.96 instalments). Please be aware that this range represents the pay range for all positions within the job grade in which the post falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, experience, and location (country). We also offer the following benefits:
