The Purchaser enables outside sales to excel in servicing customers while ensuring our inventory is accurate, turning, and high quality. The focus of this job is to collaborate with sales and operations, build an understanding of our products and culture, and ensure we have all the necessary products to service the customers. This is a fast-paced environment where results need to be shared and effectively delegated when necessary. Duties/Responsibilities: Create purchase orders, review purchase order deliveries, confirmations, and invoices for accuracy Coordinate with warehouse manager to ensure deliveries are scheduled in available time slots, track and ensure timely deliveries Alert the appropriate departments of changes to the delivery schedule, price, or supplier change request Monitor inventory levels, working with sales management to ensure all inventory is ordered as needed and to ensure the quality of purchased products Arrange returns for unacceptable products to suppliers Assist in the quoting process to provide accurate and estimated costs for materials to the sales department Assist the sales department in creating direct ship and nonstock orders, monitoring confirmations and communicating when orders should be delivered Research, create, & maintain supplier relationships; select suppliers based on past performance, product offerings, service, etc. Proactively identify and quantify risks impacting the material supply chain and fulfillment of customer orders Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers, negotiating cost reductions when available Updating supplier costs when increases happen Other duties as assigned Job Requirements: Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player Strong written and verbal communication skills using a variety of formats Attention to detail and highly organized Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions Able to handle multiple projects occurring simultaneously, with a sense of urgency and accuracy for goal achievement Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others Willing to jump in and roll up your sleeves to help out when necessary Qualifications: Experience and understanding of supply chain procedures Knowledge of inventory control principles and practices Computer proficiency with MS Office/Excel and Outlook applications Prior M3 experience preferred MacArthur Benefits Package: Outstanding Family Medical Benefits Package Substantial Stock Ownership Program Competitive Compensation Packages Paid Time Off (PTO) & 8 Paid Holidays Each Year Employer-Sponsored Family Dental Insurance 401k and Roth 401k Investment Accounts (With Substantial Employer Matching) Employer-Sponsored Life & Disability Insurance This job posting is a summary; more details of responsibilities are provided during interviews.
