Description

Northern Metalic Sales is an established, independent Industrial Supplier with stores across Alberta and British Columbia.
We are looking for an individual for the position of Purchaser at Northern Metalic Sales - Peace River.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfortable working with the public
  • Able to work well without direct supervision
  • Have excellent communication/negotiation skills
  • Fluent knowledge of Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Previous Industry knowledge would be helpful
  • Team members are required to assist in all other areas of the branch. Cross training in these areas is expected

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Post-secondary education considered an asset
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Words and Outlook)
Sound knowledge of industrial products an asset
Organized, self-motivated team player, able to work under pressure

Responsibilities

DUTIES

  • Purchasing and sourcing of product to meet customer requirements in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assistance with marketing initiatives

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyzes product requirements and place orders as needed to meet customer requirements considering inventory parameters, lead times, and vendor specifics. Expedites orders as necessary.
Work closely with suppliers and customer service team to build relationships and resolve issues.
Drive operational excellence and best practices.
Review open orders, back-order, and lost sales reports for timely adjustment of inventory.
