Description
Responsibilities Manage end-to-end procurement of spare parts, stores, lubricants, and services for assigned tanker vessels (Crude, Product, Chemical or LPG). Source, evaluate, and negotiate with approved marine suppliers globally to ensure cost competitiveness and timely delivery. Review and process purchase requisitions raised by vessels, ensuring technical specifications and maker references are accurate. Obtain competitive quotations, conduct commercial comparisons, and prepare purchase orders in accordance with company procurement procedures. Liaise closely with Technical Superintendents and vessel crew to clarify specifications and urgency of requirements. Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely shipment and delivery to ports worldwide, considering trading routes of tankers. Monitor delivery status and follow up on outstanding orders to prevent operational downtime. Maintain and update supplier database, pricing benchmarks, and procurement records within the purchasing system (e.g., AMOS, ShipServ, or similar). Ensure compliance with company policies, ISM, ISPS, OCIMF and vetting requirements relevant to tanker operations. Analyze procurement trends and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality standards. Requirements Requirements Diploma in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline. Minimum 2–5 years of purchasing experience in shipping, preferably handling tanker vessels. Strong knowledge of marine spare parts, technical consumables, and tanker-specific equipment (cargo pumps, IG systems, etc.). Good negotiation skills with commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple vessels simultaneously.
