PURCHASING ADMINISTRATOR – PERMANENT

Location: Nuneaton, Warwickshire (Office-based)
Salary: £28,000 per year
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (flexible working available)
About the Role
Our client, a well-established manufacturer with operations across Nuneaton and Hinckley, is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Administrator to join their team.
Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager and working closely with the Production Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring procurement activities align with production schedules and strategic objectives.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to the efficiency and success of the supply chain function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, plan, and procure components and raw materials in line with production and assembly requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Production team to ensure material availability aligns with schedules.
  • Maintain accurate stock control and oversee timely purchasing and delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to guarantee reliability, quality, and performance.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimise cost and efficiency.
  • Keep accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
  • Liaise with the Quality team to address supplier issues and ensure compliance standards are met.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a purchasing role (preferably with steel products).
  • Background in inventory control and stock management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with strong initiative.
  • Collaborative mindset with cross-functional team experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Experience with international sourcing and logistics.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Previous procurement experience within steel product supply chains.
