The Purchasing Agent supports company success by helping maintain optimal inventory levels, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely procurement of quality products at competitive prices. Responsibilities and Duties: Manage and resolve defective material claims, including RGA processing, vendor follow-up, and credit recovery. Assist with purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment based on inventory needs and sales trends Review requisitions and forecasts to determine procurement requirements Monitor vendor pricing, lead times, and performance to ensure competitive and reliable supply Track purchase orders, shipments, and deliveries to ensure accuracy and timeliness Maintain vendor records, documentation, and product information within the ERP system Support the negotiation of vendor terms, pricing, and delivery schedules Collaborate with Sales, Warehouse, and Operations to ensure communication and alignment on inventory needs Identify and escalate supply issues, discrepancies, or product availability concerns Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels and reordering thresholds Follow all company purchasing and inventory control procedures What We Offer: Monday–Friday schedule (no nights or weekends) Matching 401(k) and profit-sharing program Comprehensive benefits package with supplemental options Paid holidays, PTO, and sick leave Christmas bonus, team-building events and company picnic Employee discount program Career advancement and ongoing training opportunities Ready to be part of a team that values your contributions and helps customers build beautiful, functional spaces? Requirements Minimum Requirements High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Minimum 1–2 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related role Product/application knowledge in plumbing, construction, or related industries (preferred but not required) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical abilities Ability to manage time, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Preferred Experience Associate’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field 2+ years in a similar purchasing or procurement role Experience in wholesale distribution Strong communication and vendor relationship-building skills Ability to interpret data, reports, or basic purchasing metrics
