Job Description Compensation: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of IT, Parts, and Inventory Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Agent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full purchasing cycle — from sourcing and ordering parts to tracking deliveries, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting day-to-day shop operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Logistics & Order Tracking • Coordinate the procurement and timely delivery of parts, supplies, and materials. • Track all open orders from placement through receipt, ensuring accurate and on-time fulfillment. • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to resolve discrepancies or shipping delays. Inventory Control • Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems or software. • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to reconcile stock levels. • Identify reorder points and proactively replenish stock to prevent shortages. Work Order Integration • Review and process work orders to identify required parts and materials. • Collaborate with technicians and service teams to ensure parts are available for scheduled jobs. • Update work order systems with parts status, costs, and delivery timelines. Loss Prevention • Monitor inventory for shrinkage, damage, or discrepancies and report findings to management. • Implement and follow established procedures for receiving, storing, and issuing materials. • Assist in identifying and resolving unauthorized or unexplained inventory variances. Shop Organization • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized parts room, storage areas, and shop floor. • Label, categorize, and properly store all incoming inventory per established standards. • Identify opportunities to improve storage efficiency and overall shop workflow. Parts Running • Pick up and deliver parts to job sites, vendors, or other locations as needed. • Plan efficient routes to minimize time and mileage when running parts. • Ensure all parts are properly documented when picked up or delivered. Qualifications • Valid driver’s license required; clean driving record preferred. • Prior experience in purchasing, inventory, parts coordination, or a related field preferred. • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. • Proficiency with basic computer applications (email, spreadsheets, inventory software • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude. • Physical ability to lift and carry parts and supplies as needed.
