Your seat at the table: Purchasing Agent You will love this seat if you get, want, and have the capacity to: Ensure Raw Material & Purchased Components Availability of MRO and some production components Maintain steady and constant supply of raw materials, components, and finished goods to assure timely delivery of customer orders Responsibility includes location, evaluation, and selecting sources of supply for both new and existing raw materials. Obtain and ensure correct lead-time information from vendors Execute Sourcing Strategy Reduce product costs & control inventory levels. Resolve quality problems when vendor is responsible, and initiate charge backs pertaining to cost of defective materials, added labor expended, impact of substitution, incoming freight costs, etc. Recommend use of alternative or substitute materials where of value to drive cost and waste out of supply chain Gain & Maintain Supplier Relationships Visit vendor plants to ensure quality and production capabilities. Research and investigate potential vendor companies. Manage to ensure the best total landed price, quality, and delivery. Maintain company’s reputation for integrity and fairness in all transactions with vendors, negotiating and performing value analysis on new and existing raw materials for management consideration This seat reports to: Sr. Manager of Supply Chain & Production Planning Our company believes leaders are critical to the success of each individual.
