ABOUT THE ROLE:

The role of Purchasing Analyst at Kalmbach Feeds is an engaging position that allows an individual to have a real impact on the company’s bottom line. The position will require interface between Nutrition, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and Production. The role will require supply chain management but the individual will have the unique opportunity of identifying new suppliers, new sources, and new ingredients based upon nutritional needs and opportunities that arise. The person in this role will coordinate all purchasing functions including purchase order processing, forecasting, delivery arrangements and price updates. Managing and maintaining supplier relationships and responding to customers’ needs will be essential tasks. The successfully contributing team member in this role will utilize their pleasant disposition, and strong attention to detail daily. As unique situations present themselves, the successful candidate must be sensitive to customer needs, corporate goals, team member goodwill and company reputation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning and Forecasting ingredient and raw material needs
  • Analyze stock usage and lead times to set minimum and maximum stocking levels
  • Support procurement and nutrition in the sourcing of new product suppliers and origins
  • Complete market and competitor research and anaylsis
  • Scheduling deliveries and monitoring receipts to catch and address late loads
  • Managing inventories to avoid outages and plant downtime
  • Pursuing freight savings by creating competition and finding new haulers
  • Filling customer orders by coordinating direct ship loads
  • Unique supply chain problem solving
  • System building and implementation of new standards or protocols
