Job Title: Purchasing and inventory control clerk

At Lane One Homes Ltd. We create innovation for the next generation of housing. We factory produce our steel frames and provide on site installation. We handle everything from the delivery of the unit to the final finishing touches. We are currently seeking a skilled Purchasing and inventory control clerk. The purchasing and inventory control clerk is responsible for managing the organization’s inventory levels, tracking material usage, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. This role ensures accurate stock control, minimizes overstocking or stock-outs, and maintains strong supplier relationships while complying with procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing Duties:

  • Review requisition orders for accuracy and check inventory levels to avoid duplicate purchases.
  • Obtain pricing information from suppliers and catalogs.
  • Prepare purchase orders and calculate total costs.
  • Process purchases in accordance with established purchasing authority.
  • Communicate with suppliers to arrange delivery schedules and resolve any order issues or shortages.
  • Maintain up-to-date purchasing files, reports, and price lists.

Inventory Control Duties:

  • Use manual and computerized inventory systems to oversee inventory levels
  • Use computerized inventory systems to compile inventory reports, recording the quantity, type and value of materials, equipment and stock on hand
  • Prepare requisition orders to replenish materials, equipment and stock
  • Maintain stock rotation and dispose of and account for outdated stock
  • Enter data for production scheduling, stock replenishment/relocation and inventory adjustments
  • Match physical inventories with system counts

Qualifications and Skills:
* Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred)
*Minimum 2–3 years of experience in inventory control and purchasing.
* Strong knowledge of inventory software and procurement systems.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
* Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

* Ability to work independently and under pressure.
