JOB OVERVIEW

Our client, a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing company, is seeking a Purchasing and Stock Control Manager to lead and optimise their procurement and stock management processes. This pivotal role involves ensuring efficient purchasing, stock rotation, and inventory control to support smooth production and despatch operations across multiple sites.
You will work closely with teams in operations, sales, and supply chain, reporting directly to the senior management team to ensure cost-effective procurement strategies and accurate stock control.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or stock control, ideally within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and stock management tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.

    Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to meet production demands.
  • Source reliable suppliers and negotiate competitive contracts.
  • Raise purchase orders and monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Track market trends to ensure the company benefits from cost savings and supplier innovations.
  • Maintain optimum stock levels to meet production requirements while minimising excess inventory.
  • Monitor stock levels, ensuring accurate data entry within the MRP/ERP system.
  • Oversee stock rotation processes across warehouses and storage facilities.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Resolve supply chain issues, including delayed shipments or defective goods.
