Job Title: Purchasing Assistant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Purchasing Assistant responsible for managing purchase order processes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining effective communication with suppliers. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills to support our procurement operations. Responsibilities Enter purchase orders into JDE and follow up via phone and email to receive written acknowledgements and confirm delivery dates. Print, scan, and email purchase orders to suppliers. Collaborate with the Planning Department to review the status of open purchase orders. Daily review of open order reports and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries for orders due within the next 10 business days. Inform management of any delivery delays and update delivery dates in JDE while notifying the Planning Department via email. Maintain digital and hard copy files of purchase orders. Handle return goods authorization requests with suppliers for rejected materials, enter debit memos into JDE, and coordinate with the warehouse and accounting for inventory adjustments. Schedule meetings in JDE for department heads and provide related administrative assistance. Essential Skills Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe, PowerPoint, and preferably Power BI. Experience with ERP systems such as JDE, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent. Strong communication skills for phone and email outreach. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and purchase order management. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain management, or vendor management. Ability to manage open order and purchase order reports effectively. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oceanside, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
