As we've grown, so has our reputation for excellence—and we remain the go-to source for top-tier mechanical contracting services.   Summary: The Purchasing Assistant supports the procurement of materials, supplies, rental equipment, and subcontractor services while assisting management with submittals, buy-outs, and other departmental projects. This position requires strong attention to lead times, inventory accuracy, supply chain efficiency, and cost control in alignment with department policies and CSUSA guidelines. Additionally, this role oversees the complete mobile device lifecycle and provides administrative support for purchasing operations, ensuring compliance with company standards, accurate inventory across locations, and effective communication with internal teams. Key Responsibilities:  Mobile Devices * Manage the full mobile device lifecycle, including request approvals, issuance, returns, deactivation, and adherence to security protocols. * Maintain accurate inventory in Kojo and satellite locations; conduct monthly counts and reconciliations. * Track and document device issues and damage; escalate excessive misuse or damage to management. * Develop and enforce mobile device usage agreements; ensure signed agreements are on file for all users. * Update and reconcile data across MDM, ADP, Verizon, and Kojo systems. * Configure, set up, and troubleshoot mobile devices; ensure all software and security updates are current. * Provide direct support to end users for device-related issues. * Manage vendor relationships for bulk device purchases, accessories, and related materials. * Monitor and maintain compliance with the mobile device budget Purchasing & Administrative Support * Assist Purchasing Agents in coordinating material deliveries to meet job and production schedules. * Communicate with field teams and vendors to obtain Proof of Delivery (POD) and enter receipts into the system. * Solicit quotations from suppliers and subcontractors; source new vendors as needed. * Maintain strong working relationships with field foremen, mechanics, and apprentices. * Monitor material quality, backlogs, pricing, and vendor performance. * Negotiate pricing while fostering positive vendor relationships. * Provide timely updates on delayed items or extended lead times. * Review and approve item quantities and pricing; resolve discrepancies promptly. * Ensure strict adherence to corporate controls and guidelines. * Verify all commitments include accurate details: * Job/GL coding * Requisitioner information * Ship date and location * Applicable taxes, fees, and charges * Report outstanding commitments accurately and on time. * Collaborate with management and team members to achieve departmental goals. * Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation. * Support management with facilities and miscellaneous projects. * Work towards the overall development of Kojo to track small assets. What you need for this position:  * High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred. * Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management, procurement, or administrative support. * Familiarity with mobile device platforms and MDM systems (e.g., Meraki, Apple Business Manager). * Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems and Kojo preferred. * Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills. * Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and coordinate with IT. * Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
