Description Centracore LLC – St. Clair, MI Centracore LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Purchasing Assistant to support our supply chain operations. This role is ideal for an entry-level professional looking to grow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting automotive and heavy-duty truck customers. Position Summary The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for creating, processing, and tracking purchase orders, maintaining accurate records, coordinating supplier logistics, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support production and customer demand. Key Responsibilities Create and manage purchase orders based on production schedules and customer requirements Track and follow up on open orders to ensure on-time delivery from suppliers Coordinate and schedule inbound logistics, including pickups and delivery timing Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records within ERP/MRP systems (PLEX preferred) Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, delays, and changes Support expediting of critical or past-due materials Monitor inventory levels and assist in maintaining optimal stock levels Assist in resolving discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, or shipments Collaborate with internal teams (production, planning, quality, logistics) to ensure material availability Maintain organized documentation and support supplier onboarding as needed Requirements Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) 0–2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or administrative role Experience with ERP/MRP systems (PLEX experience a plus) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Preferred Experience Manufacturing or automotive environment Familiarity with supplier scheduling, EDI releases, or forecast-based purchasing
