We are seeking a highly motivated full-time Purchasing Assistant. Candidates with a background in purchasing or a related field, particularly in supply management, will have an advantage in the selection process. Proficiency in supply management software and Microsoft Excel is also beneficial. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our Purchasing Coordinator and maintenance team. This is a junior position reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive parts
  • Conduct cycle counts
  • Ship parts for repair
  • Organize stock
  • Perform clerk and data entry tasks
  • Assist the purchaser with daily needs
  • Control inventory using the CMMS management system

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma (Grade 12) or higher; trades qualification with relevant experience in a similar capacity or previous experience with purchasing or warehouse inventory flow
  • An associate degree or higher is generally preferred
  • Proficiency in supply management software, purchase agreements, and purchase orders is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn new software applications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain records of work performed and materials & equipment used
  • Knowledge of safety practices and principles
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
