WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING A PART-TIME PURCHASING ASSISTANT FOR OUR 153 BEDROOMED, 4* GALWAY BAY HOTEL LOCATED ON THE SALTHILL PROMENADE JUST OUTSIDE GALWAY CITY.

The candidate will support the purchasing department. This is a varied role which will allow the candidate to obtain exposure to several different departments across the hotel, working primarily with the purchasing manager with the opportunity to grow and develop within the hotel.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Fluent level of both written and spoken English is essential.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years in a similar role is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and be proactive at problem solving.
  • Good communication skills.
  • High level of computer literacy skills
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase orders for supplies, equipment, and services as required by various departments.
  • Becoming a key user of the hotels procurement tool (Procure Wizard) and supporting departments to ensure the hotel maximizes the system
  • Responsible for receipting deliveries and supporting in investigation on discrepancies against delivery. Ensuring deliveries agree to Purchase orders
  • Work with the Purchasing Manager to ensure proper storage, security and distribution of deliveries within the hotel.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supply for operational needs.
  • Help with stock counts and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage stock rooms by organising and rotating stock as necessary.
  • Keep back of house tidy.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are complied with.
  • Ensure security and safety protocols are followed in Hotel Car Park/Delivery areas.
  • Stationery management in the hotel.
