POSITION OVERVIEW:
A dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant is needed to support a procurement team by handling materials and service acquisitions. This position requires strong communication, documentation, and multitasking skills, with the ability to work independently using established purchasing procedures. You’ll serve as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal teams, ensuring timely and accurate procurement operations.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in purchasing or procurement
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with email platforms (e.g., Lotus Notes or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
- Ability to read blueprints and understand basic engineering documents
- Knowledge of purchasing commodities, materials, and vendor sourcing
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred
- Equivalent professional experience will be considered
Pay Details: $30.00 to $33.00 per hour
