VJ Technology are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our Purchasing team in Ashford.
This is a full time, permanent role. 40 hours per week Monday - Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break each day.

SKILLS YOU HAVE:
· Prior experience of working within a fast-paced construction or related industry procurement department (desirable but not essential)
· Prior experience working within a procurement/buying role is essential
· Knowledge of the Company, Market & Competitors (desirable but not essential)
· The ability to liaise effectively and build relationship with suppliers
· Proficient in using IT packages (including Microsoft word and Excel)
· A proactive and flexible approach to plan and meet demanding deadlines

YOUR PURPOSE:
Being instrumental in coordinating all purchases. Maintaining strong relationships and excellent communication with suppliers and internal contacts, working to deliver outstanding experiences for our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Working in a fast-paced energetic team who strive for personal and professional excellence
· Providing Procurement Customer Service support
· Daily management of enquires through the purchasing helpdesk
· Responsible for the management of the purchasing responsibilities across the department
· Investigations and problem solving of potential delivery discrepancies
· Communicating professionally between all stakeholders
· Support Account management with supplier feedback and meeting content
· Developing strategies to find the most cost-effective deals and suppliers
· To place orders with suppliers for non-stock and stock orders once the sales order has been received
· To make sure direct delivery to sites are fulfilled and the information given to suppliers is as accurate as possible
· Maintain strong working relationships with our vendors
· Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are discrepancies
· Ability to interchange between different functions within procurement when support and/or training is required
· Liaise with Warehouse and make sure stock is delivered
· Manage the transfer of stock to other company warehouses
