Position Overview:
Responsible for managing purchasing functions to ensure the company maintains optimal inventory levels, secures high-quality products, and achieves cost-effective purchasing. This includes sourcing and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, processing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, and monitoring market trends. The Buyer will collaborate with internal teams to meet customer demands, support operational needs, and maintain efficient supply chain processes while upholding the company’s commitment to quality and exceptional service.
Skills and Qualifications:
A post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus
Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles is preferred
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook or similar tools
Knowledge in the Automation industry for Sensors, Encoders, Safety, Vision and Auto ID (Barcode reading and RFID) would be considered a strong asset
Keen attention to detail and strong sense of urgency
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Customer service focused
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Specific Responsibilities:
Placing purchase orders for goods and services based on requisitions and inventory requirements
Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and implement strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Collaborate with vendors to confirm orders, negotiate pricing, and track order status.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery timelines
Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality and supplier relationships.
Monitor and expedite deliveries to ensure timely arrival of goods.
Communicate with suppliers regularly to resolve delays or issues with shipments.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors as needed.
Communicate effectively to resolve discrepancies, quality issues, or changes in order specifications.
Consolidate purchase orders, to ensure shipping and customs charges are kept to a minimum
Assist with the following tasks: answer customer inquiries including but not limited to pricing, availability, order confirmations, backorders, provide customer quotes, quote follow up calls and inputting of orders
Follow company policies and procedures
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $38,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
