Job Description About the role The Purchasing Coordinator (Buyer) executes purchasing strategies for the business unit including the procurement of raw materials, components, supplies, and services. This role supports the overall profitability of the business by driving procurement initiatives to reduce network raw materials, work in process, and finished goods inventories while optimizing service, reducing waste, and increasing inventory turns. The individual ensures materials are available to meet local production schedules by reviewing plant demand and resource availability. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, customer service, and other departments to advise on inventory levels and replenishment strategies. Oversee the preparation of purchase orders and follow-up as needed to expedite shipments and deliveries. Negotiate with vendors on terms, prices, and service levels and evaluate vendor performance. Provide procurement data analysis and drive projects to improve costs, reduce inventories, and enhance service levels. Ensure vendor adherence to procurement terms and compliance with conditions to ensure sustainable and ethical sourcing strategies. Qualifications Proven experience in Materials Planning, Materials Management, and Logistics Planning. Strong knowledge of Procurement Processes, Request for Proposals, and Procurement Regulations/Legal. Demonstrated expertise in Supplier Management, Cost Reductions, and Negotiation. Proficient in Data Analysis and Forecasting to support business decision-making. Strong focus on delivering high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail.
