POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to join our rapidly growing Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Internet Service Provider team. As the company undergoes large-scale network expansion, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for our infrastructure buildouts.
The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, supply chain coordination, and vendor management—preferably within the telecommunications or utilities sector. You will be responsible for managing purchasing workflows, maintaining optimal inventory levels, coordinating with engineering and field teams, and ensuring that all materials are delivered in line with project timelines and budget constraints. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, scaling environment are essential.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier and vendor management, inventory and demand planning and contract and compliance requirements is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain—preferably within telecom, fiber optics, or utilities.
  • Strong understanding of materials used in fiber construction (e.g., conduit, handholes, fiber optic cable, splicing equipment) preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to a Joink office (Currently within Illinois: Taylorville, Hillsboro; Indiana: Terre Haute)
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

2. Generate and process purchase orders based on project needs, stock levels, and vendor availability.
3. Work closely with vendors to negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and lead times.
4. Track shipments and ensure timely delivery of materials to warehouses or project sites.
5. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and warehouse teams to forecast demand and align procurement with project timelines.
6. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation within ERP or inventory management systems.
7. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delays, quality, or discrepancies.
8. Assist in developing and improving procurement processes and vendor relationships.
