JOB SUMMARY

The Purchasing Coordinator will purchase goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. The Purchasing Coordinator reports directly to the Sr Supply Chain Manager. This position works closely with the project teams to be sure material orders are placed and received in a timely manner.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or supply chain or 2-3 years relevant experience preferred
  • Familiarity with clerical practices, office procedures, and automated equipment such as copiers.
  • Ability to perform computations with reasonable speed and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs and experience including Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Netsuite preferred
  • Ability to handle and be trusted with confidential and/or sensitive information
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to be flexible and to handle multiple projects in an organized, timely manner
  • Able to problem-solve, work under pressure, and to effectively manage stress
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.?

Responsibilities
  • Purchases goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with stakeholders to maintain inventory levels and procure R&D project materials.
  • Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
  • Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
  • Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
  • Assists in ordering other items such as cleanroom and office supplies.
