About the role  We are on the lookout for a Purchasing Coordinator to join our Procurement team. This role plays a key part in ensuring our manufacturing sites have the right materials, at the right time, and at the right quality to support safe and efficient operations. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day purchasing activities across raw materials, packaging, consumables, and engineering supplies, working closely with planning, manufacturing, warehouse, and supplier partners. You will be someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, operational environment where attention to detail and strong coordination skills are essential. Key responsibilities of this role include..  * Managing day-to-day purchasing activities including ordering, availability, stockholding, and quality of materials. * Ensuring materials and supplies are available to support planned and anticipated manufacturing operations. * Liaising closely with planning and scheduling teams to manage changes in demand and production schedules. * Coordinating purchasing documentation, including import and supplier documentation where required. * Monitoring delivery schedules and proactively following up on delayed or overdue orders. * Maintaining accurate purchasing and inventory records within SAP and Ariba. * Supporting inventory management through monitoring stock levels, ageing, and expiry to minimise waste and losses. * Working with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. * Ensuring compliance with Procurement, Inventory, Quality, and Health & Safety policies and procedures. About you You’re an organised and detail-focused purchasing or supply chain professional who enjoys working collaboratively across teams. You’re comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating with suppliers and solving problems as they arise. You take pride in accuracy, follow-through and ensuring things run smoothly behind the scenes.   Skills and experience   The ideal candidate will have: * Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role * Experience in dairy, food manufacturing, or a similar production environment preferred * Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Ariba highly desirable but not essentials * Membership of a recognised procurement or supply chain body (e.g. CIPS) is an advantage * Strong analytical and numerical skills with a commercial mindset * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Confidence working under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment     About us – The Synlait Spirit    Synlait is more than a global leader in milk nutrition – we're a purpose-led team that’s Doing Milk Differently For A Healthier World. Our Synlait Spirit guides everything we do, from how we show up each day to the impact we create together.
