Job Description The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the import and export logistics of raw materials and finished goods in accordance with established procedures. This role will also provide backup support for the logistics operations of the Vallejo plant, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective transportation and distribution activities. Develop and manage suppliers to ensure best practices, cost competitiveness, and service quality. Minimize procurement costs and lead times. Ensure a continuous material flow to support plant operations. Create and release purchase orders and submit them to suppliers. Follow up on supplier deliveries to ensure timely receipt of requested materials. Manage the monthly replenishment of coded materials. Negotiate costs, quality, and commercial terms with suppliers. Support contract reviews and negotiations, including large-scale bids and strategic sourcing initiatives. Lead and support material bidding and tender processes, including stock and transmission-related materials. Monitor and report supplier service level performance, providing visibility on order status and delivery compliance. Prepare and maintain buyer service level performance reports. Issue annual supplier performance evaluation letters. Maintain proper documentation, including requisitions, supplier onboarding records, and related files. Distribute and manage service schedules. Manage annual purchase orders using ERP systems (QAD) Support and attend external audits (KPMG) and internal audits as required, including: Review and manage supplier contracts. Follow up on consignment purchases. Support additional purchasing requirements as needed. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Commercial Relations, or a related field. Experience At least 1 year of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles. Experience managing MRO, services, maintenance, and indirect purchasing categories. Exposure to supplier development, contract negotiation, and bidding processes. Experience working with ERP systems (QAD preferred). Experience in the metal-mechanical or industrial manufacturing sector is a strong plus.
