Summary:
The Manager of Purchasing & Inbound Logistics is instrumental in scaling Super7’s supply chain to support rapid growth while ensuring a seamless experience for our customers. This role oversees key elements of the supply chain, including purchase order management, inbound logistics, supplier coordination, and warehouse alignment, optimizing for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Working with a cross-functional team and collaborating with external partners, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service levels, streamline processes, and ensure our supply chain evolves in step with our expansion. Responsibilities include coordination of all inbound international logistics, development of reporting tools for process improvement, and ensuring smooth communication between internal teams and external factories to meet business needs.
Responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
- End-to-End PO Oversight: Manage the complete lifecycle of all production purchase orders, from creation to closure, ensuring timely execution and adherence to company requirements
- Process Optimization & Tool Development: Develop and implement tools that automate and streamline the PO creation process using data from ERP and inventory systems, reducing manual effort and minimizing errors.
- Factory Communication & Alignment: Support Product manager with clear and effective communication to S7 factories regarding critical PO details, PO revisions, ex-works receipts & fulfillment and any other special requirements in support of retail partners compliance requirements.
- Quantity Verification & Adjustments: Work with internal teams to monitor purchase order fulfillment rates, adjusting quantities as needed based production constraints.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Proactively identify and address discrepancies or delays in POs, collaborating with vendors and internal teams to implement solutions that minimize disruptions.
Supply Chain Management:
- Resource Optimization: Partner with internal teams to ensure resource availability, maintaining an efficient and effective supply chain.
- Inbound Inventory Coordination: Oversee on-time air and ocean cargo transportation, proactively addressing delays to minimize delivery disruptions.
- Inbound Logistics Oversight: Manage shipment tracking and coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective transport.
- Shipment Optimization: Support consolidation efforts to improve freight efficiency and reduce costs, in coordination with logistics partners.
- Warehouse Alignment: Work closely with warehouse teams to streamline inbound shipments, ensuring smooth receiving and fulfillment processes.
- Data-Driven Improvements: Analyze shipping data and carrier performance to identify efficiency opportunities and enhance transportation strategies.
Inventory Optimization
- Channel allocation and Fulfillment: Work closely with Sales and Procurement for accuracy in the channel allocation process, ensuring optimal receipt of goods for fulfillment optimization.
- Data Accuracy and Reporting: Ensure accuracy of all purchasing records for inbound inventory, reviewing processes and analytical tools to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, control enhancements, and process corrections.
Compliance and Data governance
- Document Control: Maintain and manage the accuracy of production shipping documents and electronic records, making sure they’re properly named and saved, ensuring all information is readily available across all departments.
- PO Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all purchase orders are accurately documented and comply with company policies, supplier agreements, and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Team Coordination: Be the main point of contact between internal and external teams (Factory, freight forwarder, warehouse, sales, and finance) ensuring purchase orders accurately reflect business demands and support our fulfillment strategy.
Requirements (knowledge, skills & abilities):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Statistics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in forecasting, supply chain, or a related field within consumer goods, production planning, or sales operations.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of supply chain mechanics, the procure-to-pay process, and forecasting concepts.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledgeable in ERP systems, Excel, and data analysis tools with a focus on process optimization.
- Proficient in Google Suite and/or MS Office applications, with advanced Excel skills (including indexing formulas, array formulas, and pivot tables; VBA proficiency is a plus).
- Familiarity with ERP systems, with experience in NetSuite preferred.
- Tableau reporting experience desired but not required.
- SQL proficiency is a plus.
- Supply Chain Risk Management: Awareness of supply chain risks and ability to escalate and support contingency planning.
- Data Analytics: Proficiency in analyzing supply chain metrics, cost drivers, and vendor performance data to drive improvements.
- Strategic Leadership: Ability to independently manage purchasing and logistics activities in alignment with broader business goals.
