Description POSITION SUMMARY This is a part-time, temporary position. We're currently looking for interns for an August 2026 - May 2027 timeline. Compile information to confirm suppliers' receipt of purchase orders and verify information is correct, follow up with specified reports, follow up with carriers, update purchasing information in distribution database. Essential Functions Statement(s) Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations. Review supplier purchase order confirmations in order to verify accuracy and expected ship dates. Record in P21 system. Track the status of purchase orders. Monitor supplier performance, recommending supplier modifications when necessary. Inform purchaser of longer than expected backorder dates and unapproved price increases from supplier confirmations. Save all received supplier confirmations and link each confirmation to the purchase order in the P21 system. Edit pricing in Prophet 21 database when necessary. Follow up with carriers on delayed/lost shipments Follow up on selected weekly reports. Confirm all rush purchase orders with the supplier the day they are placed and inform purchaser of any delays. Assist with other tasks and projects as needed. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Competency Statement(s) Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions. Requirements EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education : High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required Experience: None Computer Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, know how to use the Internet for research and marketing, as well as adapt easily to new systems. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Sit 75% of workday. Use computer keyboard,10-key, and other office equipment.
Responsibilities
