The Opportunity: The Purchasing Inventory Clerk supports the purchasing and operations teams by maintaining accurate inventory records, assisting with purchase order processing, and ensuring that goods and supplies are available to support daily club operations. This role plays a critical part in inventory accuracy, cost control, and operational efficiency by tracking inventory levels, coordinating with vendors, and supporting purchasing workflows. The Purchasing Inventory Clerk works closely with the Purchasing Manager, warehouse staff, and internal departments to ensure inventory is properly received, recorded, stored, and replenished in accordance with company policies and procedures. Duties and Functions Monitor inventory levels and track stock usage to support timely replenishment. Assist in preparing, processing, and tracking purchase orders. Verify purchase requisitions for accuracy, proper approvals, and alignment with inventory needs. Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality. Enter inventory receipts, adjustments, and transfers into inventory management systems. Communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules, shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies. Maintain accurate inventory records, including counts, locations, and usage history. Conduct regular inventory counts and cycle counts; assist with physical inventories. Reconcile inventory variances and report discrepancies to the Purchasing Manager. Maintain organized storage areas and ensure inventory is properly labeled and stored. Prepare reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and purchasing activity. Collaborate with internal departments to understand inventory needs and usage patterns. Support compliance with purchasing, inventory control, and safety procedures. Qualification Standards High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in inventory control, purchasing support, warehouse, or stockroom operations preferred. Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic purchasing processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar business software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to perform basic math and reconcile quantities accurately. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to lift, move, and organize inventory as required by the role.
