Description JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Research, evaluate, develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors. Establish and maintain backup suppliers for high-demand or critical items to minimize supply chain disruptions. Source new products and negotiate pricing, agreements, and promotional programs. Analyze data, proposals, and vendor information to determine cost-effective pricing strategies. Monitor inventory levels and product movement to identify trends, adjust orders, and ensure key items remain in stock. Collaborate with wholesale and retail departments to support smooth procurement processes and accurate demand forecasting. Set up items, perform ongoing maintenance, and manage margins to meet profitability targets. Create and track purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate product delivery. Reconcile invoices with purchase orders and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Manage seasonal prebooks and forecasts to align inventory with business needs. Participate and contribute to meetings, discussions, and assigned action items as required. Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes, and continuously develop skills. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and relay information clearly with an emphasis on building positive professional relationships. Practice punctual and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3+ years of purchasing and inventory experience. Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Excellent time-management and planning abilities with strong attention to detail. Strong listening, communication, and collaboration skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS College degree in business, supply chain, or a related field. Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: livestock or equine products, pet food and supplies, or other knowledge relevant to our product mix. SCHEDULE This is a full-time, in-person, 40+ hours per week position, generally Monday - Friday. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS $26.00 - $30.00/hour.
