Intertek is a leading provider of quality assurance, testing, inspection and certification services worldwide. Our Minerals business supports mining and resource clients across Australasia through industry-leading laboratory and technical services.

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing, Logistics & Consumables Manager to lead procurement, inventory, stores and logistics operations across the Minerals business.

Reporting to the Country Business Line Leader, Minerals Australasia, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient sourcing, purchasing, storage and distribution of materials, consumables, equipment and services that support our operational and laboratory teams. You will also lead supplier relationships, inventory governance, cost optimisation initiatives and the ongoing development of the Stores team.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position that combines strategic procurement with operational delivery. You will work closely with laboratory managers, operational leaders and suppliers to ensure the business has the right materials and services available when required, while maintaining strong commercial outcomes and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement, purchasing, inventory and logistics activities across the Minerals business.
  • Develop supplier partnerships and negotiate commercial agreements that deliver value, reliability and quality.
  • Oversee stores operations, inventory management and consumables planning to support uninterrupted business operations.
  • Drive cost optimisation, process improvement and supply chain efficiencies.
  • Manage freight and logistics activities, ensuring timely and effective delivery outcomes.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Stores team while fostering a culture of accountability, service and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, financial controls and health, safety and environmental requirements.

About You

You are an experienced procurement, supply chain or logistics professional with strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to lead operational teams.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, inventory or supply chain management.
  • Strong supplier relationship management and contract negotiation skills.
  • Experience using ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Sound commercial, analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Experience within mining, minerals, laboratory services or other industrial environments will be highly regarded.
