This opportunity leads and develops a purchasing team while providing oversight of vendor strategy, inventory performance and purchasing priorities. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Lead, coach, and manage the purchasing team to ensure effective execution of purchasing and category strategies. Set priorities, expectations, and performance standards for purchasing activities. Provide oversight of vendor relationships and purchasing strategy to support service levels, inventory health, and financial goals. Review and guide inventory planning and purchasing decisions, with attention to logistics and transportation constraints impacting Alaska. Monitor key performance indicators and hold the team accountable for results and continuous improvement. Partner with cross-functional leaders to align purchasing strategy with operational and business objectives. Represent the purchasing function in vendor relationships and strategic discussions. Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships. Practice punctual and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS 5+ years of purchasing or category management experience, including people leadership. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Intermediate to advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Excel and Power BI. Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS College degree in business, marketing, retail merchandising or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge and skills. Experience managing multiple product categories. Purchasing experience. Consolidation and transportation experience in Alaska or other remote-market environments. Understanding of logistics and transportation including consolidation, freight considerations, and extended lead times. SCHEDULE This is a full-time, salaried 45+ hours per week position, in person, typically Monday through Friday. Company-paid education and training may require occasional day and/or overnight travel. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Annual base salary: $75,000 – $110,000.
