Carpets N More is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in flooring and construction. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring that our supply chain operates efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, sourcing strategies, and negotiation skills to optimize purchasing decisions and drive cost savings. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Flooring & Construction experience
  • 5+ years of product knowledge
  • 2+ years of proven supervisor experience
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous with vendors and internal/external customers always
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment, multitasking while keeping focus on the customer
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • The purchasing manager is responsible for providing a high level of professionalism with the vendors, external customers as well as internal customers
  • Provide knowledge and feedback when it comes to new installation systems
  • Forecast and maintain accurate stock levels
  • Negotiate pricing for projects and understand market pricing for current products
  • Capability to value engineer products from a product summary spec sheet
  • Initiate material and labor claims with vendor as necessary
  • Daily management of warehouse team for both deliveries and load-out of installation crews
  • Inventory management consists of inventory adjustments, perpetual counts, quarterly physical counts, identifying aged materials for disposal
  • Product database maintenance for adding new materials and managing pricing
  • Create new vendor relationships and negotiate rebate programs for high volume material purchases
