Description Dynabrade's Purchasing Manager is responsible for the smooth departmental operation for the procurement of materials and products required to accomplish the manufacturing goals on time and in specification. The Purchasing Manager will manage the staff of Purchasing Agents, Buyers, and Interns necessary to fulfill this role. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate with Operations, Product Management and Engineering in developing products. Administer/Negotiate purchase orders such as tooling and capital expenditures. Work with staff to maintain on time deliveries and expected quality of goods and services. Travel to suppliers and potential suppliers as necessary for surveys and problem resolution. Pursue cost savings as an everyday goal. Assure that PO suggestions through ERP/MRP are entered timely and accurately. Source and oversee the sourcing of necessary goods and services. Ability to converse with suppliers understanding the technical aspects of parts purchased to drawing specs. Cognizance of industry shortages, trends, and changes. Vender management responsibilities, provide suppliers with results scorecard on a quarterly basis. Guide, train and lead the purchasing agents and department interns. Requirements Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience in purchasing. Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in manufacturing setting with ERP/ MRP background. Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in leading and managing the purchasing team and function. 4-year degree in supply chain management, operations or related field desired. Must be able to demonstrate foreign and domestic sourcing strategies, with several manufacturing methods. Demonstrate cost savings, alternatives sourcing and methodology. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications. A working understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning (GD&T). Confident working cross departmentally as a functioning duty within internal processes. Excellent communication skills are a must and must be comfortable discussing ideas and initiatives with Executive Management.
