JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee the procurement of products for our supermarket chain. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality goods, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and implementing cost-effective purchasing strategies that align with our business needs and customer expectations.
Monitor sales and inventory data, and prepare for category management in chain stores.

RELEVANT QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:

Minimum bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or a related field

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

-At least three years of relevant experience in large-scale retail purchasing
- Able to independently establish and lead a procurement team, with strong resilience
-Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or a similar role (supermarket or retail industry preferred).

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and manage budgets effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Asian grocery products is highly regarded.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the company’s annual operating budget, including sales, profits, inventory, and suppliers contract signings, and drive the achievement of performance targets.
  • Help new stores expand and build product lines, contact suppliers, and have different preferences in different regions.
  • Collaborate with other team members for system configuration
  • Category management
  • Manage and continuously develop and enhance the external
    supplier(interstate and overseas) system, establish strong
    cooperative relationships, and lead supplier negotiations.
  • Stay updated on the latest trade conditions and market
    information, continuously adjust product displays and planning.
  • Analyze and research market conditions in order to predict
    consumer trends
  • Select products for the store in line with current consumer
    preferences.
  • Evaluate products in key categories and continuously optimize the
    product structure according to the season while controlling costs to
    increase profits.
  • Plan promotion activities and determine the display structure.
