PURCHASING MANAGER - FOOD

My client, an Irish-owned family food business, is seeking a diligent Purchasing Manager to join their team in South Dublin. This is an amazing opportunity to join a long-established company with a reputation for distributing innovative products and services. You will be responsible for working with suppliers to purchase key products to fulfil customer requirements, and for commercial pricing and communication with the required stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers, using market insights to drive collaboration and performance.
  • Identify gaps and emerging opportunities in the food service sector to support product innovation and category growth.
  • Support sourcing of new, existing, and replacement products in line with customer demand and business strategy.
  • Take responsibility for specific product ranges, including supplier negotiations, pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Assist in the development and management of supplier contracts, including promotional pricing and volume planning.
  • Research local and wider market trends, preparing competitor analysis and reports to inform commercial decisions.
  • Monitor margin reports to detect pricing errors or margin erosion and support pricing accuracy.
  • Open and maintain product codes, ensuring all systems are kept current with accurate supplier information.
  • Provide accurate reports-including sample tracking, promotional activity, and ad hoc analysis-to support commercial planning.
