This role ensures suppliers meet quality, regulatory, and performance standards while supporting inventory management and production schedules. What You'll Do Develops and executes purchasing strategies aligned with company goals and medical device regulatory requirements. Identifies, evaluates, and qualifies suppliers of materials, components, and sterile packaging used in medical device manufacturing. Negotiates pricing, terms, contracts, and long-term supply agreements. Establishes and monitors supplier KPIs (delivery, quality, cost, responsiveness). Leads supplier audits and corrective actions in collaboration with Quality Assurance. Manages day-to-day purchasing activities including purchase orders, order tracking, lead-time management, and issue resolution. Optimizes inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing excess/obsolete stock. Collaborates with engineering and R&D team to source materials for new product development and prototyping. Ensures supplier files, contracts, purchasing records, and approved supplier lists (ASLs) are accurate and audit-ready. Supports regulatory inspections and internal/external audits. Works closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and R&D teams to align procurement activities with operational needs. Supports cost-reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects. Performs related duties as required or directed by Executive Management. Maintains a safe and clean work environment. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a calm and pleasant manner. Demonstrated negotiation and contract management skills. Knowledge of medical device quality systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems. Ability to read and write checklists, reports, and correspondence. Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, memos, etc. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing industries. Experience managing suppliers of components, electronics, plastics, machining, or sterile packaging is a strong plus. Certification such as CPM, CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP. Experience with global sourcing and risk management. Physical Demands While performing this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use their hands regularly. The role also requires close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus when working with computer equipment. The employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. The work environment typically has a low to moderate noise level.
