Job Summary We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to lead forecasting, inventory planning, and procurement activities to support our operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the right products are available at the right time while balancing inventory levels, supplier performance, and cost efficiency. This position works closely with operations, sales, finance, and suppliers to improve planning accuracy, reduce stockouts, and drive overall supply chain performance. Duties / Responsibilities: · Manage and develop a small team of buyers, ensuring effective execution and performance · Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical data, trends, and business inputs · Partner with sales and operations to align on demand assumptions and upcoming needs · Develop and maintain a basket-of-goods cost model to evaluate supplier pricing across non-core vendors, providing visibility into cost competitiveness, trends, and variance · Create and release purchase orders based on demand and inventory targets · Track supplier performance (lead times, fill rates, quality) · Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers where applicable · Ensure timely delivery of materials to support operations · Set and maintain appropriate inventory levels (min/max, safety stock) · Balance inventory while striving for 100% fill rate · Reduce excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory · Support new product launches and phase-outs · Proactively communicate supply risks, delays, and mitigation plans · Help improve ERP data accuracy and reporting · Develop and track fill rate and supplier performance metrics, driving continuous improvement across both · Identify opportunities to streamline planning and purchasing processes Requirements Required Skills / Abilities · Five plus years of experience in demand planning, purchasing, or supply chain roles · Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environments preferred · Strong understanding of inventory management and forecasting concepts · Experience working with ERP systems · Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively Education and Experience: · At least three to five years of related experience required. · Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
