POSITION SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Manager will oversee the Purchasing Analyst team and lead strategic initiatives related to Chassis Procurement. This role is responsible for supplier engagement, long-term sourcing strategies, and alignment with Product Engineering to support new product development and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of manufacturing supply chains.

  • Lead and develop a team of Purchasing Analysts and Buyers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, with a focus on chassis and key component procurement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Finance to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives, supplier performance improvements, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, supplier onboarding, and compliance with company standards.
  • Utilize ERP systems (Made2Manage experience preferred) to ensure data accuracy and support decision-making.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities related to procurement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management, including team leadership.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial equipment sectors preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
