  CUSTOM PIPE IS A PRIVATELY-HELD MANUFACTURER OF STEEL AND DUCTILE IRON PIPE AND COMPONENTS FOR THE WATER WELL AND WATER WORKS INDUSTRIES, WITH A NATIONAL FOOTPRINT.   OUR PRIMARY RAW MATERIAL PURCHASING COMMODITIES ARE STEEL AND DUCTILE IRON PIPE. POSITION SUMMARY THIS ROLE WILL OVERSEE AND MANAGE ALL MATERIAL AND PURCHASING ACTIVITY, AS WELL AS LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORTATION OF RAW MATERIAL AND FINISHED PRODUCT.  THE ROLE ENCOMPASSES PROCESS DESIGN AND EXECUTION. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Forecast and track material usage by utilizing MRP modules in ERP system.  * Source and negotiate with suppliers of raw materials (U.S. and abroad).  * Place raw material orders, track lead time and deliveries, and coordinate delivery to branch locations.  * Manage and coordinate inter-branch transfers of material in the ERP system and coordinate the delivery of material to the transfer location.  * Resolve shipment and invoicing issues as needed by working with branch level shipment managers.  QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor’s degree preferred. * Minimum of 5 years’ purchasing experience in the steel and/or fabricated metal products industry. PREFERRED SKILLS * Strong Microsoft Office experience. * Experience working within ERP/MRP systems. Experience with Acumatica is an advantage.  * Experience purchasing raw materials for multi-site operations, including steel, ductile iron, bronze, and similar materials.   * SIOP Planning strongly preferred but not required. * Knowledge and experience working with multiple shipping and logistics companies, including ports of entry and various modes of transportation.  * Purchasing experience with foreign manufacturers and import rules and regulations. * Strong ability to negotiate favorable credit and delivery terms with vendors.  ADDITIONAL NOTES * Role will be full-time * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  * Strong time and detail management skills with the ability to track multiple deadlines simultaneously. * Experience working in a team environment and coordinating with multiple departments. * Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.   COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Competitive base plus bonus as well a comprehensive benefits program.
