Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Oversees activities related to the purchase of material, material control, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and stores functions. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems. Ensures materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements, while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. Develops material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, productio,n and engineering. Reviews and plans requirements for purchasing materials. Prepare material requirement plans using enterprise resource planning systems. Assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the function operates efficiently. Education & Experience A degree or equivalent 3-5 years of Procurement and Materials experience in a manufacturing environment. 3 years of Purchasing Leadership or Strategic Sourcing Experience Effective negotiation and supplier management skills including, management of international suppliers and contract manufacturers. Thorough understanding of inventory reduction techniques, blanket replenishment agreements, and commercial purchasing terms. Formal communication and presentation skills. Strong ability to format data into concise, complete,e and meaningful information and commitments Supervisory, motivation, coaching, and people development skills. Direct experience with Oracle ERP or equivalent. Ability to plan and track material sourcing projects utilizing project management best practices. Ability to facilitate and influence cross-functional problem-solving and process improvement Skills Leadership capabilities for managing a team include the buyer/planner and the warehouse. Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
