Description
Major Responsibilities • Sourcing of Casting, Forging, Sheet metals, Fastners, Proprietary parts including supplier sourcing and price benchmarking • Co-ordination with internal customers for commodity consolidation • Monitoring development of part as per the timeline and ensuring supplier deliver on time • Closely involved in the Early Supplier Involvement process • Strong negotiation of price, payment terms, contract terms and conditions • Scheduling & Inventory Management • Handling Market trend analysis. Oversee Price Forecasting. Monitor supply markets and trends (e.g., material price increases, shortages, changes in suppliers) and interpreting the impact of these trends on company strategies • Hands on experience & independent working on costing of all commodities would be added advantage • Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineer & Supplier Development Engineer for vendor audit and approval • Support the process of sourcing by identifying the alternate sources and import substitution with sufficient data for supporting the change • Implement, streamline the procedure, and improve supplier performance management • Set up strategy and lead execution in commodities to achieve cost savings, payment term, lead time reduction etc • Perform capacity management with supplier Desired Skills • Experience in negotiating prices, terms, developing, consolidating and finding new suppliers • To Understand business requirements and execute efficiency and accuracy in Product - Pricing, Sourcing, Specifications, Quality, 100% on time Delivery & Availability • Ability to champion initiatives to implement inventory management techniques such as KANBAN, JIT, FIFO, MIN/MAX, Lead time/lot size reduction, etc. • To provide market research and analysis of alternative options of products which may give the organization a competitive edge by way of cost minimization or ease of availability. • To Support company strategies in key performance areas, particularly during new product development • Having knowledge of IATF systems. Qualifications • Bachelors degree in Engineering, plus Diploma / PG in Materials management, operations, business administration or related field preferred. • Minimum of ten years leadership experience in materials and purchasing • MRP-QAD use and knowledge required • Lean manufacturing concepts, use and knowledge • Experience in supplier scheduling & its adherence required • The ability to motivate others in the achievement of objective/goals • Professionalism and integrity to communicate and work with employees at all levels of the organization • Hands-on, systematic individual with strong analytical skills • Results oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibility • Time Management and good organizational skills a must • Good product knowledge especially in Casting, Forging, Sheet metals,Fastners, Proprietary parts components • Understand to read materials specification and component drawings • Good knowledge in supplier base & location • Energetic and results oriented • Professionalism and integrity to communicate and work with employees at all levels of the organization • Results oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibility
