Job Description Oversee the purchasing process for goods and services, ensuring alignment with hotel needs and budget. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality and reliability. Stay informed about market trends and new products to make informed purchasing decisions. Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and implement efficient stock management practices to minimize waste. Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend budget adjustments as needed. Work closely with various departments (e.g., kitchen, housekeeping) to understand their specific purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery. Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards. Prepare reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and inventory status for management review. Provide guidance and support to junior purchasing staff, fostering their development and ensuring adherence to best practices. Address procurement-related issues, such as supply disruptions or quality concerns, swiftly and effectively. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the purchasing budget, ensuring expenditures align with financial goals. Promote sustainable purchasing practices by sourcing eco-friendly products and engaging with responsible suppliers. Qualifications Understanding of the complete procurement cycle, including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and vendor evaluation. Knowledge of inventory control techniques, systems, and best practices to maintain optimal stock levels. Awareness of industry trends, market conditions, and supplier landscapes to make informed purchasing decisions. Familiarity with methods for assessing supplier performance, including quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Knowledge of budgeting processes, cost analysis, and financial reporting related to purchasing activities.
