The Purchasing Officer will manage and oversee the purchasing requirements and to adapt to changing business demands. In this role you will review prices, lead time, recorder points, MOQ and quality, and ensure optimal stock levels. You will also collaborate with the warehouse and supply chain team to enhance profitability and sustainability and manage stock levels for accuracy and efficiency, preparing reports, and keeping internal customers informed.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or other degree with a major in accounting or a related field (desired but not essential e.g. business, finance, information systems) with over five years of experience
  • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
  • Proven expertise in working with supplies both domestically and internationally
  • Advanced proficiency in MRP and ERP systems (e.g. SAP), focusing on their application on their application and implementation to enhance purchasing and improve operational efficiency
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, complemented by excellent planning, business acumen, and presentation skills. Proficient in leveraging technology and software to enhance decision-making.
  • Practical experience in applying Continuous Improvement and Lean methodologies to optimize processes, reduce waste, and drive operational excellence
  • Skilled in working with teams with a positive attitude, consistently encouraging individuals to exceed their limits and deliver exceptional results.
  • Strong customer service ethic focused on delivering optimal outcomes for the business, with expertise in building relationships and fostering effective communication across internal and external stakeholders.
