Job Purpose This Buyer/Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the overall trial part readiness throughout the new model development cycle. Effectively communicate and work with North American suppliers to ensure on-time achievement of project goals Key Accountabilities Review, Order, manage and expedite parts for new model trials and other special events. Review requirements, go to spot (supplier) to understand situation, support action for resolution of issues and recovery to ensure on time delivery. Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) where needed. Evaluate Trial Part requirement for all New Model activity. Review, manage, and issue trial part pricing. Negotiate with supplier as needed. Confirm and evaluate supplier readiness against project targets at key stages in development. Support recovery activity to ensure on time delivery. Conduct and review transfer of relevant new model trial event management information to the mass production delivery team to ensure quality and accuracy of data with minimal supply chain impact for event/mass production readiness. Manage one or more Buyer level special projects for the department (efficient improvements, etc) and implement improvement plans Qualifications/Experience/Skills Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (Business or Supply Chain Management Degree preferred) Minimum Experience: 0-2 experience required; Co-Op experience preferred Other Job-Specific Skills: Good project management skills, manage supplier relationships, work in teams to build consensus, multi-task, solve problems, manage projects, strong excel Working Conditions International travel may be required once or twice a year with an average length of 1-2 weeks per trip (5%). Willingness to work overtime due to the cyclical business needs of our New Model launches. Open office environment with moderate level of noise and activity. Office base work with travel required. Travel may increase during critical development periods and could have potential last-minute travel due to crisis support. Possible shift time adjustment to support critical development phases.
