Hose & Rubber Supply is a regional company in the Rocky Mountain West with six store locations over five states. We strive to identify and satisfy our customers' needs with our extensive hose and fitting knowledge, large hydraulic and industrial hose and fittings inventory, and hydraulic CNC tube bender. We pride ourselves on problem solving for our wide variety of customers, whether in the oilfield, construction, medical, manufacturing, military, or government.   As a Purchasing Specialist, you would be responsible for maintaining the pricing and other pertinent items of data in the inventory management system, establishing and maintaining working relationships with vendors, and ensuring that projects and updates are cataloged and done in an appropriate time frame.    You would work out of our Salt Lake City, UT corporate location. This is a full-time position with benefits. The Purchasing Specialist duties include, but are not limited to: * Ensure that price updates are received and implemented internally. * Set up vendors in the Inventory Management System and file applicable paperwork so we have an active account with the vendor. * Evaluate and work with vendors to stay competitive on product quality and price. * Prioritize and work through projects that come into the Purchasing Department. * Find substitutes for items on stock out report as needed. * Maintain the price and cost discounting in our inventory management system. * Excel based data analysis * May also evaluate current stock levels, place orders with vendors, and follow up to ensure products reach the company in a timely manner. The job requires: * Computer and data entry skills * Knowledge of and skill in Microsoft Office Suite (especially of Excel) * Analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills Level of Education and Work Experience: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience * Prior purchasing experience, hose industry experience, or computer/database experience is strongly preferred * Experience with AI Tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot preferred * SQL skills not needed, but beneficial Compensation: * Hourly: $26.00 - $38.00 + per hour (base pay range $26.00 to $33.00 per hour, plus quarterly EO incentive) * Schedule: 40 + hours a week; Monday to Friday * Benefits offered: * Paid Holidays and Flexible Time Off * Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance * Life & Disability Insurance * 401(k) Match and ESOP Contribution Retirement Benefits   We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.
