PURCHASING SPECIALIST

RAB Design Lighting Inc. (“RAB”) is hiring a Purchasing Specialist.

Key duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Ensuring the quantity of inventory is on hand is appropriate and ordering replenishment inventory when necessary using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and demand forecasting;
  • Ensure data associated with inventory is correct such as country of origin; tariff codes, SKU classification; weights and measurements;
  • Identifying, communicating, and resolving inventory issues in a timely basis in collaboration with various stakeholders including external logistics providers and suppliers; as well as internal New Product, Customer Service, and Logistics teams;
  • Determine landed cost of inventory based on the exchange rate and freight costs;
  • Identify process improvements and support team members;
  • Reconcile variances between Purchase Orders and Invoices (Price, Quantity, FOB cost, Inco terms, Terms of Payment);
  • Work closely and collaborate with Engineering and New Product Teams to ensure purchased items meet technical specifications and compliance requirements;
  • Build relationships with overseas providers and following up on purchase orders when necessary;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand large project requirements and align procurement activities with project timelines.

REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate must have the following skills and background:

  • 3+ years of purchasing related experience, preferably in the electrical/construction industry; Experience should include understanding of the full procurement process and related logistics issues;
  • Post secondary educational background in supply chain management or business-related;
  • Experience with an ERP system;
  • Intermediate excel skills (i.e. xlookup/vlookups, pivot tables)
  • Some familiarity with Canadian and US tariff codes, USMCA documentation requirements, duty drawback submissions;
  • Clear and succinct communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Collaborative and enjoy working in a dynamic team environment;
  • Enthusiasm, punctuality, organizational skills, analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
