Description The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for procuring all non-commodity goods and services—including chemicals, equipment, parts, supplies, tools, and repair/maintenance services—at the lowest total cost while ensuring quality, reliability, availability, and timely delivery. This role reviews requisitions, determines procurement methods, interfaces with suppliers, and makes informed selection and negotiation decisions to support efficient plant operations. Requirements • Associate’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. • 2–5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. • Experience working with ERP or MRP systems for purchasing, inventory, and supplier management. • Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiation, quote analysis, and sourcing. • Strong knowledge of purchasing best practices, supplier management, and cost-saving strategies. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); advanced Excel skills preferred. • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
