This PVT Engineering position is a member of Ford Motor Company’s Product Development organization that is located at the Chicago Assembly Plant (CAP) along with the Operations team. The PVT Engineer at Chicago is the ‘first line of defense’, analyzing and improving the quality of the Explorer, Aviator, and Police Interceptor products manufactured at CAP, with a focus on product design.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain sub-system or Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) level Quality documents and drive the achievement of quality targets.
  • Lead engineering design changes for future minor product launches.
  • Support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for specific sub-systems and work closely with Supplier partners for sub-system components to address quality concerns.
  • Lead engineering trials and the implementation of running changes and Supplier Requests for Engineering Authorization (SREA) for the sub-system.
  • Issue engineering Alerts and initiate & pursue authorization of engineering Concerns for product changes to support Quality objectives.
  • Engage technical experts and functional team members for driving resolution and in developing corrective actions to improve product quality.
  • Create and deliver presentations to various levels of management (weekly VRT report out, Vehicle Quality Reviews, Engineering Manager/Chief/Director reviews).
