Cognitive is seeking a versatile and experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to support the testing of web and mobile applications across the full development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both manual and automated testing, including accessibility (508) compliance, functional validation, API testing, UI testing, and security-focused quality assurance. This role works closely with cross-functional Agile teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, and accessible software products.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of software QA experience, including manual and automated testing
  • Experience testing web and mobile applications
  • Familiarity with REST API testing and tools such as Postman, Katalon
  • Familiarity with UI testing and tools
  • Proficiency in SQL and ability to validate data integrity
  • Experience with accessibility testing tools and standards (508, WCAG)
  • Strong understanding of Agile development environments
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust - Medium Background Investigation (MBI)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with automated test frameworks (e.g., Katalon Studios)
  • Familiarity with .NET/C# environments
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Azure APIM
  • Familiarity with Selenium
  • Experience with healthcare or government systems

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for both web and mobile applications
  • Perform end-to-end testing, including functional, regression, integration, and accessibility (508) testing
  • Validate conformance with Section 508 and WCAG standards using tools such as Axe, JAWS, or NVDA
  • Conduct manual and automated testing of REST APIs and user interfaces
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, designers, and project managers to define acceptance criteria and ensure quality throughout the SDLC
  • Identify, document, and track defects using standard issue tracking tools
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes
  • Ensure testing practices align with security protocols and organizational standards
  • Stay current on best practices and evolving trends in software QA, accessibility, and security
