Description
As a QA Analyst you will be embedded within the RuneScape Engineering team, where you will be testing changes to the game engine and it’s supporting modules, giving qualitative feedback on game mechanics to deliver meaningful feature updates to our players. Location: Hybrid - 2 days a week in Jagex office (Cambridge) Key Responsibilities: Create concise test cases and plans Execute different test cases and testing activities (e.g. playtest participation and run test automation) Report bugs, feedback, and risks, following team standards Investigate player bug reports and report on findings Test game engine features and report identified bugs Analyse game content and give feedback Identify and escalate risks that could impact game quality, player satisfaction or business success Create debugging scripts using our in house scripting language. Conduct Release Candidate testing on the Game Engine Work as part of a multi-discipline Game Engineering team covering: Responsibilities of QA within Scrum Run sprint planning Required Skills, Traits and Qualifications: Passion for video game development from the player-centric creative element or the technical ‘behind the scenes’ operations. Expected to work in multi-disciplined team and understand their needs. Familiarity with PC and Mobile operating systems and hardware. Enthusiasm and passion for learning new technologies and QA skills that improve the quality of the product. Desired Skills, Traits and Qualifications: Software/Video Game-related degree or other qualifications such as Programming, QA or Agile courses (ISTQB, PCMs). In-depth product (RS/OSRS) knowledge is a strong plus. Strong analytical skills. Experience with any of the following is a strong plus: User research, UX, Economics, Design, Programming, Automation, Data Analysis/Science, or Tools Development.
